And uh today we're gonna be talking about creating high energy websites and PR materials. I can't wait to hear about that but uh uh besides what I've already said about you, tell us a little bit about you and and how you made that switch from from going down the uh the uh the law path over to uh getting your PhD. Um, do you ever do the stumble effect on, on something though where you kind of stumble into things that you didn't plan? Ah, that's, that's kind of how my career has actually gone. Uh early 70s, living in Chicago, hanging around with a group of friends that were at that point starting to get into things like yoga, meditation, nutrition, actually and all that stuff was considered pretty far out weird and I also as an attorney viewed it as totally weird. And so, but I kept hanging around these friends and so peer pressure's very powerful and so I got peer pressured into trying some things and one of the earlier things I did was Haha yoga, which I did with a negative attitude. I was going to prove to them it didn't work. Shortly after starting it, I noticed lower back pain problems. I had most of my life were gone, and I had more flexibility than I ever had as a high school athlete. I got so excited I just started studying other things and, uh, then I, I realized I could, um, I had enough information I can start sharing with others that they ought to know this information. And so I started with a program that I created for colleges called uh how to relax and enjoy being a student or passing your exams, and that was in '74 when I first started that. And been doing it ever since, uh, moved into the business arena in 1980 and have worked on, uh, I kind of call myself the energy doctor because we're looking at the energetic energetics behind everything that we do and how we do it. Ah, to date I've authored nine books as well and have, uh, several courses on brain rewiring on top of that. It's, it sounds like in the course of looking for a career you found yourself. Well, I, I thought I had a career in law, but I decided that wasn't it. So yes, I found myself and I found other things to do that were really helpful for folks. So yeah, it was the stumble effect in in all its glory. I like the stumble effect and you know, for a lot of our listeners, there are so many people that are saying. You know, uh, what I've been doing for the last 20 or 30 years has been, you know, a living, but now I want to have a life and what you know, there must have been a catalyst at some point like you said, you, you went in and you were gonna prove something wrong and you found out that boy it really works. What advice would you give to somebody who's in that uh that scenario where they're saying I, I really don't feel like I'm fulfilled right now. Well, I would say, uh, you know, kind of look at your passions. In other words, what are you most interested in, what gets you excited? So I got excited, uh, when I saw the changes in me from doing yoga, which was totally unexpected because I was really going to show them it didn't work, so they'd leave me alone. And then I wound up getting into other things an area called shiatsu, which back then nobody knew what it was, but it's a finger pressure technique like acupuncture to use your fingers and I very quickly wound up developing a treatment that would get rid of a headache in 90 seconds and one that would get rid of migraines in 5 minutes and discovered the headache treatment would also get rid of hangovers, so that was real valuable to sell at colleges. Mhm. That's great, yeah, and so look for what your passion is. Uh, what if you got up first thing in the morning and said, OK, what am I gonna do today that I really wanna do and then start looking at how you can build around that. I love it. That's great advice for anyone out there who's thinking, you know, it's time for change. It's time not to retire but to rewire my life. So what does it mean that something is high energy? Let's talk about that for a sec. OK, so, um. In the work that I do, I use a concept called behavioral kinesiology, which is muscle checking of the body. It shows how everything affects us. It's very direct, immediate, and very dramatic, and flat out looks like a trick when people first see me do it, but I've actually built in the proof and the research into what I'm doing and give people an experience as we go through it, and I discovered, um, a long time ago that what we look at affects us. I actually learned it from one of my teachers on this work. What we look at affects us. Uh, the guy who I, I learned it from was a psychologist, uh, Doctor John Diamond. And he was using them from a psychological standpoint and I'm in the business arena, so I didn't, I wasn't using it in that context, but I looked at it, um, and one of the very first things I played with was a, um, a cover of Esquire magazine of Mick Jagger. Do you ever look at something, uh, either a website or a PR thing you get or a cover or something, and you kind of know it didn't feel all that good, doesn't feel all good inside or, or you really like that. So do you, do you ever have those kinds of feelings, Bill? Oh yeah yeah yeah certainly all the time. Well, when you're designing websites, PR materials, you'll get that feeling and then you'll move into if you're, let's say, designing a new website. You'll then move into, well, what should we change here and you start doing what I call the guessing game. Well, maybe if we change this picture, how about if we move the copy over a little bit and you either get to the point where it works or you finally get fatigued and you say that's good enough. With this muscle checking concept, you can actually determine what it is that's impacting you positively. Or negatively and so I was saying Mick Jagger was one of the first, uh, pieces that I did because I looked at the cover and, um, and because I know this work applies to what we physically look at, I said there's something off here and I actually thought it was his eyes. And so I started covering up different parts of the cover and discovered it was his pouting lips and not his eyes. So I then tracked the magazine in terms of new stand sales for a couple of, this is when news stand sales were big, uh, a couple of months before this issue came out and a couple of months after, and what happened is there was an immediate drop. Below any any of the other issues on this particular issue. And so in looking at it, what I, uh, was figuring out, people in walking up to this on the newsstand subconsciously said this does not feel good and they bought something else instead. Interesting. So high energy is a concept where you look at it and it makes you feel even better than you did before you look at it. So that's moving it to a whole other level of where the what you're looking at becomes a, uh, where you feel really good looking at it again, totally subconscious, but we can actually check it out with this muscle checking concept to actually determine if it's that level as well. So you're, you're sensing muscle muscles tightening up or having the kind of the what because of a reaction to something. And is that, is that how basically what it boils down to? What it boils down is our muscles actually respond in ways that we've never thought of. So if I have somebody put their arms straight out to the side of the body with their thumb pointing downward and I press down hard on it, it'll, they can hold it up easily. When I have them look at something that is like the Mick Jagger that I talked about in my first, uh, experiment, uh, they look at that and I press on their arm, physically, it's way easier to push your arm down. They can't keep it up. And so you're looking for things that you not only keep the arm up, but there's another level we can go to where we can actually determine did it actually create more energy in the body than you had before you looked at it. Um, 11 of my clients for this work, you've heard of, uh, Jack Canfield and the Chicken Soup, Chicken Soup for the Soul Book series. Sure. And so Jack is both a good friend, but he's also became a client when the very first chicken soup came out, he was the American Booksellers Association, you know, trying to get PR for his book and showing it around, and, and I happened to be at the convention marketing one of my books, and he was having a party at his house that night and I went over. And I've been talking to Jack. I said, you know, you can check the energy level of things like book covers, and he said, Oh, let's check. The chicken soup for the soul book cover and and it was like I was going, oh no, what if it's not good. He's my friend. I'm invited to his party. Oops, but we did it and it checked high energy and, uh, I showed Jack what was going on with it and actually I wound up doing a number of their books before I we decided I have a DVD of this seminar and I just get sold him the DVD and said you can do it for yourself and and he did. So he has literally said on stage when he was doing programs he will not release a chicken soup until it's been through this process I developed to make sure it is high energy. By the way, they had another guy, and there was another guy at the uh conference at the uh party who had a book and he pulled it out for me to check and it actually checked weakening. So we had two variations on themes right in that, uh, in that party. And, and, uh, you're gonna tell me that played out, right? That he his book didn't do as well? Yep, yep, unfortunately, so that's so fascinating. It it sounds like you stumbled into something here again and, and that it's why wouldn't anybody uh and why doesn't everybody do some kind of a checking on this? How sophisticated is the pro I mean you told me about the arm up and down that's that's one kind of kind of I guess at a party it would work, but is this, is it more scientific? Well, let me give you an example, and there is a lot of science behind the muscle checking. It actually originated way back in 1912 from a Dr. Robert Lovett, medical doctor from Harvard Medical School. So it actually started a long time ago. It was evolved over the years, mostly to check for illnesses and and work with the body and muscles that are out of alignment and stuff. But it got lost in 1941 when World War II hit the medical profession, totally changed direction, and moved into battlefield medicine, which became surgery and drugs, and we've actually been there ever since. The work got rediscovered in 1980 by a chiropractor, Dr. George Goodhart, and he's actually set up, set up a college called the College of Applied Kinesiology for healthcare professionals, still exists, still operates, and, uh, one called, um, then, uh, a guy named Doctor Paul Dennis came along and, uh, developed educational kinesiology, which is using these concepts originally for kids and adults with learning disabilities. We can take D and F graded students and give them the capability of becoming A-level students in a semester just by using movement. So there's a lot out there, but let me give you a story. I did the live seminar on creating high energy websites and PR materials for a convention called American Society of Association Execs where the people who run association groups around the country come to get educated. And one of the guys runs a association for sales professionals, and he went back to his office skeptical, but he said, let me see what happens. He brought 10 of his folks in and they took prior journal covers that they had and several future that they were looking to do, and he muscle checked them all. He got the same exact reading on 9 out of the 10 of the people. Then they were going to do a postcard mailer to prior clients of not prior clients, they were looking for new, new members and they had their PR firm do 7 versions. They kind of like this one over here. When they did the muscle checking concept, this one over there checked Strong and said, Well, let's send it out. They normally in the past when you do this is when you did a lot of mailing pieces, they would do an envelope mailing pieces, lots of paper in it, but this was a postcard mailer. They sent it out and they got a 400% higher response from new members signing up than they got on anything ever before. OK, so what I think I hear you saying is that that you can get really sophisticated with this, but even the basic, the basic premise of it is it makes people feel better or it doesn't like instinctively and uh what what are some of the, the key, like don't give it all away, but what are some of the key tenets of does blue test better than yellow is is it color based is it what what are some of the key tenets of this that you could tell us for for for instance websites and PR and things like that. It's actually everything that's a part of it, starting with the energy level of the person who's doing your website. Are they high energy or are they low energy? I'll give you an example. I had, uh, a, um, album cover I was doing in a book cover. I was called Switched On Living. And while we liked the design, we muscle checked it and it was, it was this weakening, it was off and energetically and so we then checked a couple of other pieces by the same graphic artists and they were the same. Now one of the ways of actually strengthening your energy is by using some music that was specifically affects brain function and there's a gentleman named Stephen Halpern. He's actually gone into the lab with his music and, and, and, um, investigated that it actually creates brain changes, and he has a one called Connections and, um, what I did is I sent the connections, uh, CD to the graphic artist and I said, I want you to redo exactly what you did before, start from scratch though, but I want the music on when you do it. And he did that and it came back high energy. So there are ways of actually then first checking the energy level of the person you're working with to make sure they're not the issue, but then you start moving into the actual design. Let's say on a website, you know, where are you going to put a picture, what kind of colors are you gonna use, um, what kind of typeface. All those have an impact, so you're quite literally checking every single element and you're actually starting to cover up when you do a design. You've got the design layout, you cover up different sections of it on the screen and check each of those sections so you can actually determine where people are looking, whether or not that's having a positive impact or not. Wow. It's fascinating. It's very fascinating. It it sounds like uh you, you, um, are very enthusiastic about this because you've seen the results of it and you actually, uh, uh, wanted to share the tip that you wanted to share is that using your gut feeling is the is the beginning of all of this, right? Just like you're saying uh you'll you'll know it when you feel it. Yeah, but then you don't know what it is. what's off there, so you just get the overall feeling this doesn't feel right, uh, and so then the question becomes how do you determine what on that web page is it that's creating that off feeling and that's where this muscle checking concept comes into place so you can actually then hone in exactly what it is and then when you make the change and or and your graphic artist makes it, you don't have to make it, uh, then you come back and see did it actually work. Well, what's great about this is that you have a special offer for our guests and and uh do you want me to tell our guests about it or you wanna tell us about it? I'll tell them about it. It's a DVD I've created which we also have the downloadable version, the digital version. On creating high energy websites and PR materials, the DVD version is usually $149. The digital version is $7497 for your listeners we'll take $10 off the digital version, so it'd be $6497 but they have to call my 800 number because we don't have this listed anywhere as a special offer. So they just call 800-777-3529. That's 800-777-3529. And this is a live seminar on this download that takes you through the entire process and how can you check to make sure something is and get something to be high energy. And, and thank you very much for that. I appreciate that for on behalf of our listeners and one other thing before we uh before we uh finish is that you're a visage speaker so you speak for a lot of bit of groups and. Um, keynote, uh, work workshops, whatever it is, uh, people can reach you. What's the best way for them to find out more about you? Is it to call the number or is there a web, what's your website?
